ThankTheTaxpayer.org
Dedicated to saying thank you to the people who pay our nation's bills
Who We Are
ThankTheTaxpayer.org is a nonpartisan civil discourse advocacy dedicated to saying thank you to our nation's taxpayers. Without their industry, hard work, and compliance, our fractious government would collapse. We'd especially like to tip our hats to the heavy lifters, those 5% of our fellow citizens who shoulder 60% of our federal income tax burden.

While no one relishes paying taxes, perhaps saying thanks now and again to the folks who pick up the tab might be more effective than demonizing them. Imagine living in a society where people were given reasons to boast about the size of their tax bill? "Dude, I could buy three Priuses with what I blew on taxes last year. But check out this cool T-shirt I got from ThankTheTaxpayer.org." A small dose of civility and good humor might even change the nature of political dialogue. Imagine people of opposing viewpoints actually hearing each other!

Stay tuned for programs designed to honor our most prodigious taxpayers. We erect memorials to fallen soldiers who defend our freedom, as well we should. We name public works after lawmakers who compete to grant spending earmarks to favored constituents. When was the last time you saw a statue honoring the people who make this possible?
